In the beginning.

What this should really say is:

'I am starting a blog, I will endeavour and fail to keep it updated regularly, here's some stuff that I've been drawing.'

I am not that succinct though.. Recently I saw some really beautiful pen drawings by Penny Davenport, all exhibited in the same room and everything. I had the pleasure of being taken through what went in to them by Penny. Seeing them, and hearing her talk about her work reminded me how much i had missed doing art on flat stuff. Which has spurred me into starting this, primarily to keep a record of all of my shit in the same place.

This weeks I have been mostly:

The canvas is pretty large (I think A2) compared to what I would usually work on, like the A5 sketchbook above. I am finding it quite daunting! The sketches give an idea of my process, although for larger work I'll be using a slightly different method. As ever I am flitting between unplanned doodles and more regimented op-art, always in two tone.
